“Horsemanship is the art of mastering our own movements, thoughts, emotions and behaviour. Not the horses.”

- Mark Rashid

In times when we’re all managing pressures and working in ways like never before, interacting with horses can make a positive difference to us all.

Spending the day at StrideOut with our equine mentors is an incredibly rewarding experience, providing insight and many valuable skills that are directly transferrable to our professional lives:

LEADERSHIP: Horses are only interested in whether we are a compelling leader and will behave accordingly, helping us refine (and sometimes even rethink!) our leadership style. Once we can lead a horse, we can lead anyone.

COMMUNICATION: Over 70% of communication is non-verbal. Since horses can’t speak, they are experts in reading body language, and understanding how to work with them will bring a renewed focus to just how important our non-verbal actions and cues are in the workplace.

SELF-AWARENESS: Horses are brutally honest, and provide feedback without judgement or agenda. Thus helping us gain an increasing awareness of the impact of our most subtle behaviours, recognising how to adapt in order to bring out the best in others.

WELL-BEING: It’s long been proven that spending time with horses offers many wellness benefits, including increased positive emotions, reduced stress and an increased sense of calm and happiness. Everyone feels better after spending time in the company of horses.

Working with such powerful, instinctive and sensitive animals, enables us to gain new insights into ourselves and our behaviour. About leadership. About communication. About teamwork. About just becoming better people.

By the end of the day, you’ll StrideOut with a renewed energy, confidence and motivation and have had a whole lot of fun in the process.
